Memorial Day is a United States federal Holiday observed on the last Monday of May (May 31 in 2010)
Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those
who have died in our nation's service. There are many stories as to its actual
beginnings, with over two dozen cities and towns laying claim to being the birthplace
of Memorial Day.
First enacted to honor Union soldiers of the American Civil War
( it is celebrated near the day of reunification after the Civil War ), it was expanded after World War I.
Many people observe this holiday by visiting cemeteries and memorials. A national moment of remembrance
takes place at 3 p.m. local time. Another tradition is to fly the flag of the United States at half-staff from
dawn until noon local time. Volunteers often place American flags on each grave site at National Cemeteries.
To all the Men and Women Who have gave their Live's for the Freedoms we take for granted everyday .

Halloween (or Hallowe’en) is an international holiday celebrated on October 31. Halloween activities include trick-or-treating, ghost tours, bonfires, costume parties, visiting haunted attractions, carving jack-o'-lanterns, reading scary stories, and watching horror movies. Irish immigrants carried versions of the tradition to North America in the nineteenth century. Other western countries embraced the holiday in the late twentieth century. Halloween is celebrated in several countries of the Western world, most commonly in the United States, Canada, Ireland, Puerto Rico, Japan, New Zealand, United Kingdom, and at times in parts of Australia. In Sweden the All Saints' official holiday takes place on the first Saturday of November.

Americans celebrate July 4, 1776, adoption of Declaration of Independence
Washington -- The United States celebrates its Independence Day on July 4, a day of patriotic celebration and family events throughout the country. In the words of Founding Father John Adams, the holiday would be “the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance. … It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.
The Fourth of July holiday is a major civic occasion, with roots deep in the Anglo-American tradition of political freedom.
